Welcome Dr. D23! You have now started down the rabbit hole of Japanese knives. We are all enablers here, so if you need encouragement to spend money at CKTG, we are here to help.

Hello. New member, longtime lurker. I got into this a year or so ago and decided I probably needed to go ahead and create an account.

Figured i would join up. Been a lurker for awhile, just received my first 2 japanese knives in the mail today from cktf.

They seem very nice, extremely sharp, exceeded my expectations of how easy they would glide through food.

Already thinking about the next 2 i “need” and learning to sharpen myself.

I've read so many conversations on this forum and it has been very helpful so I should probably post something here. I like to cook good food for myself and my family and it helps if you have the right tools which is how I found CKTG. Down the rabbit hole I went! I don't have a ton of knives, but I think I have more knives from CKTG that not. Also, I have so many sharpening stones now, haha! I find sharpening to be very rewarding in it's own way. Except that I have to bring my own knives everywhere now because knives at vacation rentals and the in-laws are so bad. :D

Hi everyone!
Just "re-registered" to the forum this month. First time was in 2014 after purchasing a 210 Richmond Artifex. Collected a few of the artifex line, I still like those what I paid and how they perform. I also purchased upwards of twenty plus knives from CKTG as well as a nice collection of sharpening stones. Took a little break from the knife world but now I'm back!

Welcome back M. Kid! I'm sure you've noticed that there is an Artifex II now. Have fun.

Howdy strangers.

Just joined to read up here. My name's Ype from the Netherlands. Because most sites require 4 letters that became Ypuh over the years and CKTG even demands me to go up to 5 so I've ended up with _Ypuh.

My skill level as a home cook is questionable but I love good tools and artisanal items that can stand the test of time and be put to use daily, hence my other hobbies are bicycles and espresso machines. I bought my first Japanese knive(s) a year ago and just purchased a Shibata Battleship to replace the Nakiri on the picture. In all my hobbies maintenance is important so I'm learning to sharpen my own knives.

Have a nice day!
