Konosuke Updates

Post by SteveG »

This is from Kosuke on January 26, 2017:

We've sent these yesterday!

=========
<Keiai #7>
150 Petty
210 Gyuto
=========

(I'm afraid this will be the last batch of #7 series..)

> Are there any plans as of now to make other sized Konosuke Keiai NT gyutos? I love the look of it but tend to prefer longer gyutos.

We're preparing 240 Gyuto now!
(edge is slightly longer than our regular knives)

>We have some Fujiyama blue 2 120mm pettys coming soon.
>Fujiyama White #2 / 210 Petty

These will be in the next packages.

Thank you for waiting.

Sorry, I couldn't answer soon.

Yes, we are.
Unfortunately, the blacksmith doesn't want to continue to make them, so we decided to stop that..

I think T1 knives looks similar and can be the replacement.

By the way, we've sent these via DHL today!

The "few others" are all from the Fujiyama blacksmith. I'll try and put them up one or two per day. Some have handles and some don't.

I put a Konosuke new arrivals section page together and I'll be putting things in there as I get them as well as in their appropriate places. I think it will help you guys to see what's coming without having to check each steel section all the time.

Here it is and I started it off with the stuff that is about to show up: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/funewar.html

The 210 Petty is really nice but - I missed it when I stepped outside to do some yard work. That 120mm Petty sure looks nice but - I have so many Pettys now I'm not sure I need another?

Wow, that was fast on the Fujiyama Blue #2 240mms... Sub-15 minutes? How many were there up for grabs this time? Also weird, it doesn't look like it sent out an email notification for it or the NT 240.

The choil shot on the cleaver really makes it look like a single bevel. Is that correct Mark?

Perhaps a stupid question, but what does the #6 stand for. I always just took it as a sort of model# with the sugimotos, but am I missing something else?

I think the 6 refers to the size 220x110 mm. If my quick reading is correct.

Oh,ok. I thought maybe that had something to do with that. This will be one case where i would actually embrace them being usually kono smaller, because I already have a large moritaka.
