Blue #2 incoming!!

Post by taz575 »

My steel supplier started carrying Hitachi steels, so I have a bar of Blue #2 heading to me tomorrow! Its 3/32" stock, so it should be good for a S grind or full convex blade. May even try a water quench with a piece!

Oh, neat. I saw they started carrying Hitachi steel at NJSB. A water quench would be cool, but I have to admit, if it was me, I'd be soooo nervous trying it!

I may take a small piece to try it. A 30" bar, 2" wide and around .100" is like $94 and close to Magnacut in price!
