20th Anniversary Monthly Donation

Post by ChefKnivesToGo »

Sue and I are grateful for being able to do this fun business for 20 years. We thought it would be nice to give a little back. Each month in 2020 we’ll be donating $500 to a different charity. We’ll announce each gift on this thread.

The first monthly donation is going to one we’ve given to for many years. Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.

You guys are so generous!

An example of how being charitable does have real world impact.

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer a few days after Christmas in 2016. It was a very aggressive cancer and in the past this was the most fatal form of breast cancer women suffered from. But because of targeted research, highly funded with the help of charitable donations, very effective treatments were developed. It went from the most fatal form of breast cancer 20 years earlier to one of the most treatable breast cancers today.

My wife is still with me today to nag me about every unnecessary knife I buy in part because of the giving nature of others.

To Mark and Sue, and everyone else out there that gives, your gifts do make a difference!

This is wonderful for you to commit to. I’m glad to see you going out of your way to give back to people and causes. People CAN make a difference.

I asked our employees to pick a charity for donation. Lacy asked us to do Madison Public Library so in February we'll be giving $500 to them.

We're having fun with this so we may keep it rolling into 2023 and beyond.

March is here and I’m going to give $500 to Save the Children Ukrainian Crisis Relief Fund. They’re working with refugees that are streaming into Poland and Romania that need basic necessities.
