Wow, crushing loss. He was absolutely one of the kindest and most helpful guys, not only on the forum, but in the kitchen knife community. Thanks for your story FisherMan, I appreciate the time to write up a great tribute like that. I hope you've found peace and your wife again Ken!
I'm Dave. I don't take myself too seriously and you probably shouldn't either.

Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
That is such sad news. Ken always gave such amazing advice. He will be sorely missed on this board.
Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
Ah man, just grabbed a knife he reprofiled for me last year and thinking it has been too long since we last talked.
Ken was enormously generous with his time and knowledge. Loved to spin a yarn and pass along gems of knife and stone wisdom. That generosity is what will endure for me.
What a loss to the knife community.
Rest well Ken. You deserve no less.

Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
Ken helped me fix the profile on my nakiri. I never met him or spoke to him in person, but his good counsel on this forum was a privilege to be a party to.
RIP Ken
RIP Ken

Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
Ok, the sale is complete and we raised $755 for the ASPCA. I'm going to round it up to an even thousand dollars in Ken's name. I hope they took care of his dog...
Thanks, everyone.
Thanks, everyone.

Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
Just found out Ken passed away. Thank you Mark for posting this. A sad day for sure. I hadn't heard from him in a few weeks. Unusual as we spoke at least every couple of weeks. Voicemail was full and no response to texts today sent me searching. Leaves a big hole in my life.
If anyone has any information regarding his family or any contact info for his brother I would appreciate a call or email. Any help I could provide them would be my pleasure as I am close to where Ken lived.

I spoke to him the evening before she passed in the early morning of the next day.

Re: Ken Schwartz Passed Away
What a sad day. I talked to him last in late August, sent him a Carter that I wanted my Kono GS ground to. Been in knife jail (SO) for the past year, so this was unexpected He lost his wife in late July when I was in Arizona, had talked to him the day after. If anyone has contact info for his survivors, it would be appreciated. It sounds petty, but he had two very nice knives of mine, and i would like to get them back. And if anyone has burial info on him, I will be out in SF in March and would like to leave something on his memorial.
