A neighbor asked if I could sharpen the blade in her (really old) KitchenAide meat grinder - I had no idea, so I told her to bring it. (see pics)
It turns out the answer is yes using the scissor attachment.
I clamped the blade (see rightmost edge in 1st picture) so it protruded just above the plane of the EdgePro where the knife blade sits for sharpening, set the rough angle by eye tested it with a light stroke against the patina on the blade, and then fine-tuned it using a Sharpie. I rotated the blade 90 degrees 3 times and it was done. The stone on the EdgePro cuts the surface shown in the 2nd picture. Then I used a large (DMT) diamond plate to polish the surfaces you see in first picture to knock down any potential burr. (None was discernible) Worked like a charm!

P. S. Under the heading “They don’t make them like they used to,” I’ve attached pictures of the old KitchenAide blade next to our new one - the old one is about 4 X as thick as the new, although the new blade is double-sided.

Nicely done. What grit(s) stones did you use on the Apex and what was the grit of your DMT finishing stone?
You can do a lot of things, other than scissors, using that attachment. It's a pretty useful piece of kit.
