EdgePro Apex-1 mounting hack

Post by Celt16 »

For the longest time, I filled a glass baking dish with water, put the EdgePro and stones in the water, and relied on the suction cups and rubber feet to hold Apex stable. That worked for a while, but not forever, and it got to the point where the suction cups often broke free from the dish. I looked at buying a clamp, but decided to buy a cutting board, lose the suction cups, but add a plastic block to regain the height lost by removing the suction cups, then screw the Apex to the cutting board, and cover the bottom in non-skid rubber. See pics.

Hi there Celt.

Nicely done!

For interest's sake, EdgePro actually have an accessory designed for this & for your application you could've maybe glued it to your surface. You can find it here <https://www.edgeproinc.com/sharpening-a ... t-p61.html>
Cheers Grant

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not going to get you!!
