Thank you, Cedarhouse

Post by salemj »

I just felt the need to give a shout out to Cedarhouse.

I'm absolutely humbled to see his recent additions to the review section. I try to keep up with posts on the forum most of the time, but seeing them all grouped and loaded at once is really spectacular. Ryan, you've done a great just not only reviewing knives, but carrying a certain "responsibility" while doing it: you hold a high standard for yourself regarding not only the content of your reviews, but also when you write them and how they relate to larger market forces. Kudos.

Very impressive, I think cedar has reviewed more knives than I've touched.

Ah shucks guys, you're going to make me cry.

When I copied these all over I was stunned. I don't think I realized how many I had written.

More than anything I feel humbled because a vast majority of those reviews were knives that were lent to me by forum members. More than a few were offered up and sent to me unsolicited. That may not seem very novel with as many as half a dozen pass arounds happening at any time these days, but some of you guys may recall, as recently as just a few years ago pass arounds weren't really a thing here. It is a tremendous privileged to not only be entrusted with someone's valuables but to be invited to opine about them. I think of the review section as a testament to us all.

Wow, yeah, that is awesome! I search this site a lot, and I do mean a lot when I am looking for info on a new knife or stone but I have never run across some of those reviews. More than a few of them are on products that have recently been suggested to me, too. There is so much info out there that it is sometimes hard to sort through so it was refreshing to see so many reviews just pop up at once.

Great work.

Ryan, it's those awesome reviews that made people want to send you more knives to try!
Between you and Stephen, you guys are off the charts with your writings about the J-knife world! :ugeek:
