Grill suggestions
Re: Grill suggestions
My family uses the same grill with a slightly different set up as the one Taz has here. So far after about a year of use it has been quite nice. It actually cooks a little fast, but my dad just turns on less burners if necessary. Not excessively expensive, and it can cook a lot at a time.

Traeger had a display at Costco this weekend, selling for $899 - they are nice and look well made.

No arguments there. We will be putting a Napoleon in our outdoor kitchen.Santas_101 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 7:05 pmYeah I have to disagree. Napoleon makes the best mid-price grills.
And it will come from BBQ Guys! Although we are also looking at their own brand, Blaze. It looks good too.
Plus Weber are no longer mid price!! Have you seen their prices lately

I agree about Weber prices. Weber stainless steel grills used to be all stainless steel. Weber now charges premium prices for stainless steel grills which have relatively little actual stainless steel.mauichef wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 7:29 amNo arguments there. Re: Grill suggestions
I spent some time looking at the mid-price range two years ago or so. I much preferred Weber's design and attributes to Napoleon (despite living in Canada and wanting to support a Canadian company!). I still do not understand the gimmick of the wavy grates.... That said, I in no way believe that Weber grills are better built or anything like that. Mine has been very durable so far.
The one thing I learned is not to do a two-burner. While the power and size are perfect for me and my partner during the summer, two burners do not get hot enough during the off-season. So when I want to grill when it is in the 40s or 50s, I find that the grill looses a bit too much temperature. Lesson learned!

Yeah the phantom I purchased two years ago for $1200, is now $2k. Everything in this world is going up and up.mauichef wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 7:29 amNo arguments there.
