I think of a couple types when looking at petty knives... one kind are like small gyutos, with some knuckle clearance on the cutting board (e.g., https://www.chefknivestogo.com/hagisitsdape.html) and the others are more sujihiki-like, with a slightly more slender blade and less clearance (e.g., https://www.chefknivestogo.com/hav1pe15.html).

Do yo have a sense of which type you're looking for?

If you like the Kohetsu, my son has their Blue #2 Nashiji petty and really loves it!

Here is one, but it is a bit over your price range: https://www.chefknivestogo.com/yobl2pe15.html

Here are a couple in Aogami Super, another great Blue carbon steel. These are a bit cheaper than the one above:

A couple more if you don't mind going a little shorter:

Yes definitely the Gihei, I've had mine for a few years now and it lives on my mag strip and gets frequent use. BUT its on the larger/longer side of Petty knives. The reviews for it seem to have disappeared some reason but they were there before.
If you wanted one of the shorter ones (120) if it were me I would go for the Matsubara Wavy face but if you want to stick with a Kohetsu there is one also with lots of reviews but its a thicker more "stoutish" looking blade while the Matsubara is thinner.
