Yes he said this was the last batch but so far he's split the batch up over the prior 2 weeks. Wasn't sure if there were more from this batch or if this was itXexoX wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 11:20 amThese probably sold out in less than a minute. I'm not positive, but I believe Mr. Mark mentioned that the classic will not be made any more. Just the stainless clad ones with the AS center.cosmicjohnson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 10:07 amWell shit, looks like I missed them. Re: Takeda Tuesdays
Takeda has said this at least twice before....it seems every couple of years he says no more classic AS, but the demand is just so great....XexoX wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 11:20 amThese probably sold out in less than a minute. Re: Takeda Tuesdays
A few days ago Takeda-san told me clearly, that no AS anymore. NAS knives are better (according to Takeda-san) and on my proposition to apply the same finish as on AS to the NAS, he replied: " We are blacksmiths not artists. Buy NAS now, we are not young".
So, I should buy a few more Takedas - the NAS models.

Re: Takeda Tuesdays
Takeda forged the Classics out a while back and on Facebook, said he was devoting a month of production to finish all of the remaining Classics to send to CKTG. He is not forging the Classics anymore going forward, so what CKTG gets is the last of then. When they are gone, they are gone.

Took a screen shot from Shosui Takeda's Facebook page:
And it looks like the last batch shipped June 19th:
I was surprised that the AS were forged, tempered, ground, etc 2 years ago and sat that long! LOL.-

Re: Takeda Tuesdays
Yup! The NAS just uses a stainless cladding instead of a carbon cladding, performance and core steel should be the same. If the Ku doesn't hold up as well on the NAS, it's stainless cladding, so it will be less prone to rusting/corrosion even w/o the KU.

Re: Takeda Tuesdays
It seemed like under 2 minutes for all of them.
I'll get a list for next week's batch so you can plan accordingly. I'm having fun with this and hope you guys are too. Almost all of them are going to regulars which makes me happy.
