Don't have any killer recipes I could find on hand. I would also look towards grilling and roasting in addition to the other methods. Maybe something à la grilled eggplant?

Re: overabundance of turnips
I like them in a gratin or 50/50 with potatoes in a mash. Depending on size, tenderness and variety, they're good in stir-fries, too (some of the larger ones don't work well in this application). I've never pickled them but I imagine that as a vinegar pickle, they'd be pretty good . . . as long as they're decent to begin with.

Works great as a purée. This recipe is for parsnips, but it should work just fine:

Re: overabundance of turnips
so the turnips ive been getting are small and really good raw. I sautéed them yesterday with some potatoes and I was surprised how tasty they were.
turnips and radishes have been the largest component of my farm share.....been eating a lot of them !

Re: overabundance of turnips
I got some from our farm share last fall and I was also surprised how tasty they were. I don't know why but I was expecting them to be bitter and fibrous. They turned out to be quite the opposite.
