SOLD - Shibata Koutetsu R-2 210 Gyuto
Not an easy sell...but for me this seems to be a drawer queen. And I need, just a little, to Marie Kondo the knife drawer.
Shibata Koutetsu 210 Gyuto R-2 core steel.
Bought during a knife show that included the maker, so there is a bit of sentiment involved. He signed the inside of the box--check the images!
It is a remarkable laser, but I find I don't reach first for lasers. It should absolutely go to a home where it will be lovingly used! I have used it no more than 3 times, very lightly--just to sample the knife. It has the original edge. Really, a beautifully performing knife.
$290 including PP and insured shipping to CONUS addresses.
140g/5 oz.
213 mm blade length
Roughly 2.4 mm width at heel
Blade height at heel roughly 44 mm
Octagonal rosewood handle and pakka wood ferrule

Oh Cindy, letting go of the signed 'Bata! That is a sweet knife.
What I wouldn't give to be able to have a repeat of that Chicago show!

I think Mark and Sue are overdue for another Chicago event. Yes, that is where this knife originated...

Hi Cindy, if I didn't already have one of these, I would be all over one "signed" by Shibata-san.
