Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
I'm working on putting these Ironwood westerns on. Specs are partially done and I'm sticking pictures on. I'll get the rest of them finished tomorrow.

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
Mark, has the 240 version of this knife already been sold? Sorry but, I haven't been keeping close track of these.ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:57 am Kurosaki san is working on Shizukus now and I’ll have them soon.
Also, he offered me a set of ironwood western handled Senkos. I never get a chance for these so I think I’m going to take them.

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
Those should be under Makoto Kurosaki. They're AS steel. These are they: https://www.chefknivestogo.com/makotoryusei.html

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
Believe it was around 5 years ago that I bought a Kurosaki Kurouchi AS for $250. Today it sells for..... $250, nice!

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
I received my shipping notice about three hours after placing my order. That's fast shipping, particularly considering that CKTG must have been hit with a lot of orders due to the newly arrived stock of Kurosaki, Makoto and Anryu.TheLegalRazor wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 12:12 pm I received the CKTG email, went online immediately, and was able to get a Makoto 240mm AS Ryusei.

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
I get the feeling that knife prices have been rising (noticeably) in the last year, which make it an even better deal.
Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
Especially in the context of demand for his work and his other lines, which are quite a bit more, it's nice to see this hold steady. All the more so as I actually prefer the aesthetics.
Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
I was thinking about getting one of these, how would you compare it to the Fujin AS i recently bought?
I am concerned about the Kurouchi finish

Re: Kurosaki Arrivals
The Kurouchi finish on my AS has held up well. It looks like a better/nicer finish than what is on my Fujin. The AS I have is a thicker heavier knife than the Fujin. Does the AS of today still have the same grind and specs of 5 years earlier, I can't really speak to that.
