That's a great knife and looks awesome with that handle.

Thanks! I was going through some of my left over stuff and found some AEB-L blanks I hard hardened and never ground. One is a 12" long blade, either a tall suji or short height gyuto blank...no idea what that is going to become yet!

Ben (Bensbites) was able to translate the idea I had in my head. He created this perfectly balanced African Blackwood wa.

Love that Matt! Tim Johnson does a pretty nice rendition similar to that.

My re-handle project: I have on of these: https://www.chefknivestogo.com/fuwh2gy18.html It is a great knife for the money, but ugh, that handle.
I have minimal tools: a bench top band saw, a 1x32 sander, and a drill. I made this handle out a piece of pecan firewood which has been in my rack for a year or so. It is made from the lighter colored sapwood, and finished with walnut Watco oil.

Kalaeb, this handle is just what I'm looking to put on my Tojiro 240mm yanagiba! I have a blond handle with buffalo horn ferrule but it's nothing compared to this beauty! I want one!!!!

Continuing my series of knife handles made from stuff in my backyard. During the cold snap last fall, my crepe myrtles died to the ground. I saved a couple of the canes and let them dry'. This handle just has a few coats of clear minwax finish on it. The knife is a Tanaka petty
