Just signed up after lurking for a while. Really interested in deepening my knowledge overall and finding some great knives to replace my Wusthoff Classic set.

Ronnie here.
Still here. ;)

Hard to believe it but today's my CKTG forums 1-year anniversary. That sure went fast. I cannot believe how much I've learned here over the past 365 days. Thanks, to all the knowledgeable forum members for patiently and enthusiastically sharing their expertise and experience here. And thanks, Mark, Sue and the all Moderators. I'm eternally grateful.

Haha, I'm a member on many other forums (coffee, wine, etc). I suspect this is only going to add to my pocketbook getting lighter as the months go on. :)

Hello:

My name is Ricardo, and I live in Miami, Florida. I'm a longtime straight razor user. I'm active on some of the shaving forums, and a moderator on one of them. I'm also a serious home cook, with a modest assortment of Western and Japanese Chef/Gyuto pieces. Lately, I've developed an interest in Yanagibas/Sujihikis. I've lurked in the knife forums for years, and finally decided to join one. There is a lot of knowledge in this forum, and I know I'll learn much here.

Hi everyone. New to the forum but I'm a certified knife nut from way, way back. I love patina, sharpening and stones that mud quickly. Carbon over stainless. I love a lot of knives from a lot of makers but I've never found a better fit than Watanabe. Glad to be here, folks. Happy cutting!

Short time lurker, first time poster here. Everyone can blame Mr. Ronnie Suburban for pointing me to CKTG. Mr. Suburban and Mr. Wiviott on the LTH Forum talked me into my first good, sharp knives (actually the first ones I've ever bought), last year and I'm retired. Home cook, nothing impressive. A bit OCD, so trying to not buy all the knives in the world.

And Mr. Suburban, I had to add the extra "X" to my nym, as it had to be 5 characters long. So Sad.

Edited to correct a glaring punctuation error.
You can blame Mr. Suburban for my being here.

Nice to "see" you here. I expect you'll enjoy it. The depth of knowledge/expertise here is unparalleled. I've learned a ton just reading these discussions. As the old saying goes, some here have forgotten more about steel and sharpening than many of us will ever learn. :geek:
