I own this knife and consider it the most undervalued and underrated knife out there.

Yeah. Great reputation for a knife. Never used one, but this should fly! GLWS.

This is a phenomenal knife, someone should grab it. It’s probably one of my great inspirations for making my own knives. I am tempted to grab it just because I can.

Many Japanese smiths measure from the handle to the tip.

Re: WTS Makoto 240mm W#2 Gyuto
I'm not in the market for this knife, but I had the same question reading this thread. Steve's and Mark's measurements of 240 Makotos are consistently over 240 mm from heel to tip. That is quite a discrepancy. A 240 Makoto that measures 215 mm from heel to tip?
Admittedly I may be missing something...

Well that has been cleared up. And you are right David, the Kurosaki brothers generally make oversized knives not under like those that come out of Sakai.Santas_101 wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 6:13 pmMy apologies the edge length is 245mm.d_rap wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 5:17 pmI'm not in the market for this knife, but I had the same question reading this thread.
