Had a vendor who carries Mizuno's purchase this direct for me. My only request was that the stamped kanji be prominent. Frontside has vendor's "Knifeline" kanji chiseled, so this is kind of a one-off.
It's quite the stunner but I had to ask myself when/if I'd ever use a 300mm single bevel. I probably won't..
Attached a Khii laurel handle off a Kono 240mm gyuto on to it. The handle was hanging around and has been sanded and coated w JKI board/handle wax. Will not charge additional for this handle as it has what might be a longer hairline crack in it (although it could just be the woodgrain).
Handle was burned in using K&S method by shaving glue sticks into the handle slot before burning in. Sealed off the top of the gap with wood glue mixed with some fine wood shavings off the handle. While removing a little of the excess glue from the tang I nicked it. Has light scratches I buffed a little. Near unnoticeable but should be disclosed.
Finally, although I have not sharpened or even used the knife, the profile will need slight adjustment. Easy fix. I labeled it on one photo.
It's $460 new, I'm asking $400 shipped CONUS.
