I have also thought about getting the TSProf. It looks like it is the best of both worlds and offers much more versatility than the Wicked Edge.

I've never had good results with lapping film except for polishing. The edge is always more coarse than the micron rating suggests. I always get a more refined edge with the stones.

They are fantastic and if you don't mind cleaning them often, a very nice substitute for the more expensive water stones. The edge that any of the Spyderco ceramics produce is phenomenal for the price.
