I had an early one and I have been told they are improved since then. The early ones would have sharpened fine, go for it.

The first folder is live and for sale. Since this was a collab with another maker, and they have a better website, it’s posted to his site.

Re: Home made small knife rest for Tormek
I bet it could be 3D printed. Or atleast rapid prototyping with 3D printing and then a machine shop could fabricate from aluminum. I could probably be fabed in a home shop without welding too.

What color should I anodize the titanium spacers? IMG_0918.jpeg Hi Ben. So back about a million years ago when I was fooling around with modding cars, one of the cool effects we learned for titanium exhaust tips was --- they turned blue with heat. Probably not the way I'd go on the two samples you ...

Re: Folding Chefs/Cooking Knife Recommendation
Is there much of a market for a larger foldable kitchen knife. As someone who is just getting into making folders, I assumed the pivot area would just be too hard to clean to be practical? I would love to try a 6-8 in folder. I have seen some online.

Titanium!! Input wanted
I figured out an improvement in my metal spacer handles. Meaning I can charge less…
These two were my test cases and are available.

Re: A little kitchen project: magnetic knife hangers
Very nice! For single blade holders, I only use 1 or two n50 1/2 x 1/8th neodymium magnets. If drill or router to 1/16th in or about 1.5 mm from the face of the wood, the hold is perfect. Keep up the good work!!! Nice tips, thanks! I was using the 8mm size as I had some on hand already, but then ne...

Re: Monosteel and san-mai laser guidance
If I am understanding you, you want some a knife that’s laser thin, but also some complexity to the grind to improve food release and the overall experience? If I am understanding, you don’t want a shibata. Right? I haven’t been keeping up with current brands. Just making handles and other kitchen ...

Re: How to dry CKTG Black Felt Knife Guard?
Is the knife carbon steel ? I have had these style felt guards (across brands) trap moisture and pit knives. When I knife comes into my shop I always wrap it in VCI paper before placing it back in the knife guard. I would find something firm and thin like a butter knife, or anything … use that to ge...

Re: Feedback on new handle shape?
I'm intriqued, different handle shapes always interest me, but I don't think I could form an opinion without having one in hand to actually feel it. I've only handled octagon handles so far, though they have each had different dimensions. I've never tried an oval handle, but this is like something ...
