Not new but after 10 months of mostly being stuck at home, it appears that cleaning out the basement can no longer be procrastinated. So, Day 1. Try to control your envy but look what I found . . .

No idea who gave these to me or when. I have absolutely no memory of ever having received them. But being the pack rat that I am, I just couldn't get rid of them . . . until now.

Hey, I have a "set" of two of Napa Style Santoku knives like yours I got at Costco years ago! So, are you selling them in the for sale subforum here?
You can blame Mr. Suburban for my being here.

Unlike a gyuto, a Santoku is supposed to be three knives in one, which implies you only need one in the kitchen. It is wonderfully ironic to see a three-pack.

Yeah but with the three pack you get nine knives!

I think I'd probably have to pay someone to take them off my hands.

I guess that means these are technically 9 knives, not 3. What a windfall! :D It really is a strange bit of marketing to bundle 3 knives of the same type together. But I'm guessing that whoever bought them for me thought it was a great idea. :?

Do like Ms. Belle and just charge shipping. You win, the "buyer" wins. Everyone is a winner!

I bought that same set from Costco in 2007 when I moved into an apartment at college. I learned how to sharpen with them too.

My wife loves 'em and won't let me get rid of them 🤦‍♂️

Prime passaround material!
If not my brother lives in Napa and sure could use some "style".

Very cool! How are you planning to use it? I'm curious, what are the patches that are a slightly different colour due to? I have those on my Konosuke SKD and always wondered. I'd assumed it was some type of patina that has formed before the knife got to me.

@Chappychap, the knife is actually made from Tamahagne nails from a 1300 year old temple.

Not sure it's a daily driver type of knife...
