Konosuke Giveaway
Kosuke gave me a Sumiro 240 Ebony for a giveaway with little guidance as to what we should do.
Any suggestions? I have a few ideas but thought I would throw it open.

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
I just drooled on my phone...
1) raffle off to charity.
2) random drawing of customers who have spent over $1000 lifetime with you
3) eBay and donate all to a good cause
4) random drawing of customers in food industry who are out of work?

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
It's a promotional thing, yeah? So use it to maximize your reach while providing exposure for Konosuke. Maybe one of those drawings where people get an additional entry for: following on IG/FB/YT/etc, being an email subscriber, etc.

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
Kosuke posted about this on IG a few weeks ago, specifically stating that the knives have been given to their vendors with the intent of being free-to-enter giveaways. Pivoting in to a raffle, no matter how well intended, would likely turn in to a headache for Mark.

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
I just started a new generation of Konosuke users yesterday when I gave my son my 1st Japanese knife my 240mm HD2 I think people that use Konosuke will appreciate this much more.

I didn’t realize this when I made my suggestion. Care to post a like to K post?Graymatters wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 9:39 am Kosuke posted about this on IG a few weeks ago, specifically stating that the knives have been given to their vendors with the intent of being free-to-enter giveaways. Clearly Mark could simply give it to you... and YOU could raffle/auction it off for charity
In fact, you could slap a nice handle on it, and raise it up even more, thus saving Mark the headache

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
How about a passaround?
Just a CONUS one...
or... then again, why not an international one?
Mark could let someone else handle it, so as to get himself off the hook.
We could nominate... perhaps members with three-letter names, (but keep it in the American time zones, for convenience)

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
For the greater good, I would be happy to. However, that seems to go against spirit of the original offer.Altadan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 11:36 amBen Ben Ben...Bensbites wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:05 amI didn’t realize this when I made my suggestion. Re: Konosuke Giveaway
Well, contest for fans is what the offer speaks of...
So its a contest concept that must be presented?

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
Just give it to me and call it good.
If God wanted me to be a vegetarian he wouldn't have made animals taste so good.
Re: Konosuke Giveaway
We're all thinking that, but no one was saying it. Thanks, Jeff. Nobody wants the stress. This Sumiiro is really a hot potato you're best fit to handle.
Though it's Joe who would give us the more detailed write-up...

Re: Konosuke Giveaway
Then...let's do a random drawing between everyone with a 5 digit post count.
