WTS: CII Bladeworks Diff Hardened 240mm Western
Sadly, it’s time to whittle down the collection so I’m reluctantly putting up my Carter Hopkins differentially hardened W2 western handled gyuto. The handle is made from gaboon ebony, brass snakeskin carbon fiber from FatCarbon, brass & black G10 spacer, and brass pins. The saya is made from a nice slab of quilted maple that I sourced from Ben Greenberg, and Carter turned a nice knurled brass pin for it. I’ve used the knife a handful of times, but I tend to like heavier grinds so I don’t find myself grabbing this one as much. It has been sharpened once on Jnats.
Knife Specs:
Edge Length: 247mm
Heel Height: 50mm
Spine @ Bolster: 2.0mm
Spine Halfway: 1.7mm
Spine 1” from Tip: 1.1mm
Weight: 199g / 7.0oz
Balance Point is just forward of the bolster
Photos when I received the knife from Carter:
Current photos of the knife with patina, which I can remove at the buyer’s request:
Including the materials I sourced, I’m into this knife for about $700. Im asking $525 shipped and insured ConUS.

If it had a wa handle I would probably grab it. I am finding out that his blades match up with me very very well. They tend to be my go to stuff.
