3D printed handles.

Post by Bensbites »

Hi All,

While I have been quiet lately, it is more due to family commitments keeping me out of the shop. More to come soon!

One of the things I am working on for the times I can’t be in the shop anyway is learning about design/execution/troubleshooting 3D printing. While I have always been a bit of a techie, this only because worth it when my kids became interested too.

I currently have black and blue PLA ( polylacticacid, a plant based plastic) filament, but I want to get some of the silky colors, and metal/wood impregnated filaments. I may even start an Etsy store for fidget toys.

Here is my first 3D printed handle! Click on the top image to be redirected to the Instagram video.

Here is a prototype shape that was 3D printed before I try it on the lathe.
