WIP 240mm honyaki gyuto

Hey everyone. This is the blade I intend to use for the pass around. W2 steel, oil quenched with clay on the spin. Its only at 100 grit and etched in ferric chloride to see the hamon. I tried to get this nice and thin! Let me know what you think!

Great looking hamon and very promising profile! I like!

Plus I am driving through St. Catharines every weekend nowadays, so we should meet at some point :P

Got the blade pretty much done, Just a final edge. Making a saya tomorrow hopefully.
Handle Credits: BensBites. Awesome handles! this knife is going to be a personal knife after the pass around and I knew i wanted this handle so it all worked out!

That looks like a laser... how thick is the spine?

Thanks! the spine is about 2.1mm about the heel and tapers down to the tip

Well I am going to make a start this weekend and see how I go. I will get some photos up either tomorrow night or Sunday. I am not sure how quickly it will get finished?
