Spalted tamarind and bog oak handle and saya.

Post by Joshigon »

The Masakage Mizu 210 is such an awesome knife. I love the deep blue kurouchi finish. I feel like it needs some love.

The handle is home stabilized 1000 year old bog oak with a stabilized spalted tamarind ferrule.
The saya is spalted tamarind.

Awesome choices of wood and craftsmanship. That says has such a cool flame like effect.

Thanks Spence. It is the best handle I've made. The saya is stealing all the attention.

It looks good too, I haven't come to appreciate sayas just yet. I can always appreciate a handle that elevates a humble knife into more of an art piece! Great color combo man!

I own a Shig with a bog oak handle. That's a great job. Love the contrast.

That Spalted Tamarind is gorgeous!
