I love my Goko white petty, but I’ve treated it poorly
The section of steel closest to the edge has taken on a soft brown/feet color which I thought was a patina. Unfortunately I’ve also got some black or rust spots in that section.
Hopefully the attached photos help.
What are my options? How can I save this beauty?
Thanks
Scott

I’m not sure that’s rust, wipe the dry blade through a dry paper towel, if any color transmits from the blade to the towel, it’s rust. If not, it just appears it’s not a uniform patina, this is normal and will continue to change with time.
Either way, baking soda slurry rubbed on with a wine cork should clean things up some.

Your good, some of my butcher knives that use sk steel, I believe, take on a blackish patina like that easily. Red stuff is when you have a problem. Most of my carbons don’t have the lovely blues and whatnot people post pictures of. They’re mostly a crappy looking orange that will eventually go to a grayish orange/brown.

Oh man you all are the best! It doesn't rub off or give me any red color on a paper towel so I guess it's jus a weird patina.
I'll just keep cutting and hoping it eventually gets somewhat uniform.
I've heard about forcing a patina, is that something I should consider?S
Thanks again

I wouldn't worry about forcing a patina, just keep using it! Forcing a patina is usually done to knives with an iron cladding to calm them down faster.
If God wanted me to be a vegetarian he wouldn't have made animals taste so good.
