A Wa handle on a bread-knife? It must be a very specialized knife for use only on one type of Japanese-style bread...

Hopefully they restock that bread knife. Looks like it would compliment the Tojiro ITK quite well.

Agreed. Maui's post actually reminded me I meant to buy it but forgot. Went in to grab it and it was gone. Who knew a wa bread knife would have been popular ..

Just picked up these 2 beauties to replace two existing knives that I plan to sell at a future date -

New knives (in pic)
Kohetsu Aogami Super Sujihiki 270mm and
Yahiko Ginsan Hammered Nakiri 165mm

will replace

Kajiwara Damascus Sujihiki 270mm
Masakage Shimo Nakiri 165mm

?? Why you dont think you can cut through bread with a Wa handle. I dont think it should be an issue. I know westerns are more sturdy, but i wouldnt think it would be a big issue. One way to find out :( .

Haha. I assumed this was one of two jokes, in that most Japanese knives are designed for specific uses, and in that Japanese cuisine is not bread heavy.
