Question1:
Was there, is there, or will there ever be a...
Stainless-clad carbon Konosuke knife?

Just curious :?: :geek:

Question2:
The MM Ginsan & MM B#2 were forged by a lady bladesmith. Is her name public, or is it kept private?
Also, the sharpener is the same fellow from the FM series, correct?

The MB by Mutsumi appears to have been stainless-clad white #2. Those more knowledgeable than I may name others.

Mizuki Mori was the smith. And indeed, Myojin Naohito on both.

enjay covered your questions, but I wanted to add to the first one.

I think we don't see many stainless-clad carbon by Konosuke because their most unique knives come from traditional Sakai smiths, which tend to be all-carbon or all-stainless (the vast majority of smiths that immediately come to mind that do stainless-clad carbon are not traditional Sakai smiths, but maybe I'm just being dense). It is also worth noting that it seems increasingly common to just do full stainless now that more smiths are using stainless (or semistainless) steels such as SLD, R2, ZDP, and Hap40, and that more smiths are just using pre-laminated billets that are often all stainless or all carbon. So I'm not sure how this will play out; just thought I'd provide some food for thought.

Hi Kosuke,

I'll put pages up so customers can sign up for them.

The new designs are really nice. The blade grinds are excellent.
Any idea when this sign up page will be going up??

I'm fairly new to the complexities of Konosuke knives, and having recently come across the MM line, i am trying to better understand it. From what information I've found, it seems that the original smith for this line stopped working some time ago. My question is, did a new smith ever take over production of these knives, or are the knives available today remnants from when Mori was still active? I don't even know if this information has been disclosed, but I was hoping someone might have some insights. My curiosity is piqued, and the rabbit-hole of information seems nearly endless.
