Forum special

Post by ChefKnivesToGo »

Hello Everyone!

Mr. Kuwabara is a small blacksmith from Nagasaki and unfortunately, we started dealing his knives after my trip down to this area so I didn't have the opportunity to meet him in person or view his shop. He's been ill over the past year but his health has improved and he reached out to me about doing more knives and maybe something new.

I thought it might be fun to offer forum members a chance at a promotional tall petty from him so I ordered 50 of them and I'm going to offer them to you at my wholesale price. I negotiated a price of $50 plus shipping so about $55 each. They'll come with walnut octagonal handles and the blades will be made with White #2 steel. I'll finish sharpen it for free if you want by request.

The rules are 50 Posts or more by the time these are available. 1 per forum member, please. Customers who have sent me cookies in the past get first dibs. :)

I want to thank all of you for hanging out on our forum and kindly answering questions to our new customers that are constantly coming on here to learn about Japanese knives. It's a little daunting to visit our website for the first time with lots of terminology and knife makers that nobody has ever heard of before and you've all been really great about helping customers discover and learn about our little hobby.

Anyway, here is the placeholder item page. I'm guessing we'll get them in 6 weeks but I really don't know when exactly. I'll update if we get pictures or other info while we wait. https://www.chefknivestogo.com/sporforexsc.html

I am thrilled to hear this. It's an amazing coincidence that this is my 50th post.

Sounds cool, but I'm a ways to go on posts. Maybe could make it by then. If I do, I'm in as well.

Of course I'm in! Not sure if you've connected my RL identity to my forum id. Don't care if you know the connection, but I try to keep my RL seperate from on-line id. I'm weird, what can I say.

Of course, I'll have to add something to the order to break that $100 barrier.

Thank you so much for this. You are too kind.

Now, if the Kohetsu Blue #2 Tall Gyuto 240mm would get here.

I should just be completing my 500 hrs of sleeping in the truck punishment by then for the last $500 knife purchase. 50 hrs will be a breeze! 8-)

That's hilarious. I'm still thinking through how I will explain yet another knife showing up, but given the circumstances, I think I can find a way . I'm in.

Just tell your wife Big Red wanted you to have it and will gladly increase its gas efficiency to cover the cost.

So, do you like molasses cookies? I know Ronnie sent you chocolate chip cookies, and you liked those, but I wouldn't want to, maybe, steal his thunder.
