Re: Forum special
guess I'm in as well - still looking for the perfect petty for turning mushrooms - have to do them again on Sunday. I'll send cinnamon cookies next time I make them - we rarely eat sweet stuff any more.

I'm in Mark...and I'll take you up on the free sharpening. I'll compare it to what I'm doing now on the Tojiro ITK Petty and then I'll know what to work towards I'm only stropping the Anryu...too chicken to hit the stones with it this early on

If they take about six weeks to arrive like mentioned you have plenty of time to get your post count high enough.

Re: Forum special
I'm in! Always need another one to add to the collection! You guys short on posts get to it! Need any help we'll try and play a little pin pong posting to fluff up those numbers! Not much of a baker, can't help you there Mark! I love to sharpen white steel, it's so responsive. I checked my orders list yesterday. First order was 10/2/2020. Seems like a year since I started this but in four months I've learned all about jknives, different blacksmiths, fit and finish, sharpening technique, my God the massive number of different stones out there. I wish they weren't so much $ I'd love to have a few different kinds on hand for fun but I love my Shapton Glass trifecta. They do all the work, all I have to do is not pus h too hard or roll the edge over.
I'd like to repeat what Mark said, I came here a few months ago and everyone was so nice and patient with my newbie questions. I felt right at home immediately. It is a blessed place, so what if we married folk spent a few hrs. on the couch, in the den or the truck. It's worth it!! On top of it all we're eating cleaner, healthier and it's a whole lot of fun!By the way, everyone out there don't forget SUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's a partner in this endeavor and just as amazing as Mark is! So helpful when you need it most. I thank you a thousand times dear Lady!

Re: Forum special
i bought the magnetic backing strips and put them on my shapton glass stones, I'm gonna add the 3"x8" stropping plate. I love this stuff. I might be persuaded to drop a little something else 210-240mm onto that list!Ozno_flash wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 12:13 pm The real question is what 210mm gyuto is gonna be a cart-buddy for the petty!

Why is it taking you so long. Reply please!
The pig is a magical animal. It takes vegetables and turns them into bacon.
Re: Forum special
I don't need another petty. Already got two, a Konosuke and killer Tanaka. But Mark is making it so tempting. My Tanaka is fairly tall, but it's not advertised as a "tall' petty.
That just might be enough to persuade me. (-:
