Be safe Ken. Us Californians are unfortunately used to it. I have been evacuated 4 times since 07.

It seems like the entire Western US is going up in flames a bit at a time. I live about 10 miles from Ken and the air quality has been quite dangerous. Like our Governor says if you don't think there is climate change come out to the West Coast and see for yourselves.

I'm about 45 miles south of Portland Oregon, which has the worst air quality in the world the last few days. Ash is falling everywhere. This was suppose to be an 80+ highs week, it hasn't. And it is so quiet. Birds aren't singing, squawking, squirrels aren't chattering, screaming, dogs are pretty quiet, cats seems to be hiding. A county near Portland, Clackamas County, has evacuated, 400,000+ people. Biggest problem has been their pets and farm animals. None of the fires are anywhere close to contained. Not a great time.

Arson is only supected in one of the fires. It is in Southern Oregon. Seems there was a body in the house that was torched.

Thanks Ken. For my zip code it is 521, Beyond Index. "The U.S. AQI does not include recommendations for PM2.5 levels above 500, but levels are sometimes worse (“beyond index”)." My house is 90 years old and leaky as a seive, no way can I keep the pollution out. Oh well, we all gotta go sometime. And like the old joke says, "When I go, I want to go quietly in my sleep like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in his car."

Sorry Ken. Not meaning to take away anything from you. That is my weird way of saying it sucks for you and I know it.

I'm weird, but I prefer the term "unique"!

Take care, try not to breath the air.

Oddly I stayed in today other than one run to the post office. The fire danger seems remote to me - other worldly. I hope I can preserve the illusion of fire invulnerability. Tomorrow is a workday with overdue orders.
