Gyuto 331x60, western

Post by nakneker »

Hope your all safe and tucked away or if your out and about I hope your being safe too. Anyways, this is a pay it forward BST. I won this knife off an auction site. I really don’t know much about it, it’s a mono steel, probably a stainless of some kind. I have no idea it’s value but If I guessed I’d say 75-125 bucks. It has an edge length of 331 and a heel height of 61, it weighs 304 grams. Not a lot of convex buts not bad quality, pretty serviceable blade. If your in the food service industry, have 100+ posts here and aren’t currently are out of work just ask for the knife and I’ll send it your way on Monday, shipping is on me, knife is on me. All I ask is that you pay it forward in some way...

I’m sure I’ll find some items that others can use and will post some more. The current circumstances will have an effect on all of us, hopefully we find ways to lift and support each other. God bless. First “I’ll take it“ here gets it. Fairest way I know.

Oh that looks like a fun big boy right up my alley.
Too bad we don't know what steel it is. 🤔.

Gotta love those auction buys!

If it wasn’t a western ^_^

You’re a good man Sean. Being one of those “out of work cooks” is unsettling and uncertain. I fear a lot of us won’t have jobs when this quarantine is over because people won’t be going out to eat.

I wish someone would step forward. I'm trying real hard not to ask for it. I know someone needs it more than I do.

I went back and looked at auction, it’s listed as carbon steel not stainless.

I know the feeling. I’m just waiting to see what the next post is..

I could definitely use a knife like this to practice my sharpening. Still gonna let someone who needs it grab it.

Again, thanks for the kind words. Knife is spoken for, I bent the rules as far as a public post, made sense to me. I’m gonna list another one later today for anybody who is 60+ and sitting at home. Maybe add a stone to it so they can stay at home and have and learn to sharpen.

That's bad ass!
I'm currently playing with the finish on my HD.
But at some point I plan on getting one of the KANEHIDE TK gyutos to play with because it was suggested when I was looking at picking up another Western for work.

It's a good time to learn or practice that stuff.

This one is back for grabs. The gentleman thought someone else could use it more. Good on him. If your in the food industry or know someone who is that is not working don’t be shy, this is a pretty good blade, carbon steel and might brighten someone’s day. 100 minimum.
