Great comparison! Any chance to get a choil shot of both side-by-side? That would complete the photoset, IMO. Thanks and enjoy!

I will try to take one. I use an iPhone and choil shots give it trouble.ashy2classy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 12:15 pmGreat comparison! Any chance to get a choil shot of both side-by-side? That would complete the photoset, IMO. Thanks and enjoy!
I will say that the MM is slightly thicker at the heel and remains thicker relative to the FM until close to the tip. The FM tapers more evenly throughout the length (has good distal taper) and has a thinner tip.

My pleasure David. I've been meaning to write a short review but have been blown away with work lately. I still intend to write something, have a draft started so not to forget too much...

I iphones can do a decent job at choil shots, it is all about lighting, background and focus.Thin Man wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 2:27 pmI will try to take one. Take the photo facing a light or nuetral colored wall, blue sky, or a 4 ft floureacent light.
Click on the choil to selective focus.

To do the choils shots above, I just put copy paper behind the knives on my counter.

Some thoughts on the MM. Feel free to just add reviews to it or post them seperate, your choice.

Re: Konosuke MM Blue #2 Passaround
Hey guys, I was able to grab an MM during the BF sale. You can take me off the pass around list. Hope it doesn't screw things up too badly!

Re: Konosuke MM Blue #2 Passaround
Just got the MM today. Only used it to cut a couple peppers. Needed sharpened so I put a quick edge on it with my Chosera 800 and 3000. Now it's much better. Took some time to compare my own MM and my FM. Comparison doesn't come close to Jeff and Thinman's photos and measurements, but I found it interesting how different the profile of my MM is to the P-A MM.
Forgive my terrible handwriting. I was throwing together dinner for the kids and trying to trace the blades and measure them at the same time. You can (maybe) see that the profile of the P-A MM is almost identical to my FM. I expected my MM to look like that but I asked Mark to choose the sample with the tallest heel so I guess that's why the profile is different. Hesitant to use it again because I might sell it. I usually like profiles like this, but I think the way the spine dips towards the tip isn't working for me. I think I prefer the tip to be a little higher. Otherwise it's hella sharp and feels great.

Re: Konosuke MM Blue #2 Passaround
That’s really interesting. I haven’t seen 2 MMs compared like that. My own MM and FM look very similar to the pass around MM and FM in your sketchesashy2classy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:02 pm Just got the MM today. Only used it to cut a couple peppers. Re: Konosuke MM Blue #2 Passaround
Amazing how different those MMs are! One looks very close to the FM and the other more like a Toyama!

Yeah that was my first thought about the Toyama profile too. Looks very similar. Just used my MM tonight to make moose stroganoff. Love this knife!
