Re: WTS Yu Kurosaki Shizuku R2 Western gyuto 219*50
Now, I'm no Yu Kurosaki fanboy (don't shoot me, Jeff!), but that IS an impressive looking knife right there, and not as expensive as might be expected.

Re: All hail the mighty Anryu.
And nearly 2 years later I continue to amazed by how well Anryu knives perform on thick root vegetables. I needed to chop 5 lbs ( a lot for me ) of thick gnarly yams for a curry yesterday. For giggles I tried out my new Yoshikazu. It was ok at first but immediately I went back to my Anryu. When it ...

Re: What did you cook today?
My son decided to help with dinner and so he got to use my Yu Kurosaki knife for the first time. He made a vegetarian lasagna using lentil noodles. It was pretty darn amazing. Fantastic! How old is he? And, did he enjoy it? My 6yo just yesterday decided to revisit the kitchen, picking up my bench-s...

I felt the same about the burnt oak handle

. . . (you can also pan fry more quickly, but you end up with more fluid) Once the veg is ready (Olives go in at this point, not earlier) stretch some dough over it, and into the oven (375/180 for 20ish min) Wow - this looks so delicious! Do you drain any of the liquid before you add the the puff p...

Re: What did you cook today?
I'm gonna have to try both methods... I think the bigger pieces of ginger have, in the past, gotten complaints from the kids for being too strong for their young tastes. I kinda like a gingerful bite :D I think I've got some zyliss large-holed grater I can try. Thanks! Here's something I may have po...

Re: What did you cook today?
Very nice Dan! That type of stir-fry is a staple around here. Prep has a variety to it, fun and not overly demanding, something that can be thrown together at a moments notice. The fact that the wife loves that kind of meal is a definite plus too! So, help me out here (Jeff and anyone else who want...

Love all that presentation, Ronnie! BTW, your comments (elsewhere) regarding cabbage, it's versatility and longevity are on point! We've been discovering the same recently. Thanks for writing! For us it was another day, another stirfry. IMG_20211018_172230500.jpg Stirfies are all about the prep; Chi...

Re: Yoshikane in the house!
Was that the Yahiko ice? This I cannot say for sure. I can't quite recall what the buzz around here was regarding the ICE, except that it had received VERY high praise, and being compared to Shibata's lasers. Here's another of the video's of the line I was thinking about: https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: Yoshikane in the house!
Looks like CKTG has Yoshikane connection going on (SWEET!). These are incredible knives- great steel, fit and finish, awesome grind. They're thickish out of handle and taper pretty quickly. I guess they're middle weight knives. Very thin behind the edge and amazing cutters. You know they know their...
