Re: Tanaka ironwood 240 gyuto

GLWS Sean.
I absolutely love my Tanakas.
They are all becoming quite rare now. Even the Shigekis are hard to find as he has run low on materials.
Your sale might go better if you give it a title like WTS 😜
Stay safe and well buddy.

Every time I try to generate a new PM, it goes into the OUTBOX and never goes out.

I can reply but that's it.

Any help would be appreciated
If I'm not mistaken, they stay in your Outbox until they're "picked up" by the recipient.
Correct.

Re: Handle conversion?

Absolutely possible. Just cannot be fill tang. Just shape the handle like a western handle. Don Nguyen, Dave Martell, Michael Rader etc... What are the names at the end referring to. Sorry if sounds trivial. These are some makers who use hidden tang western handles in their designs. I actually just...

The more information we have the better we can guide you to the perfect knife :-). 1)Pro or home cook? 2)What kind of knife do you want? (Gyuto, Santuko, Petty, Paring, Sujihiki, etc.) 3) ...

I guess we get to make our own rules for our pass arounds. Not really. You need to make it fair for all concerned not just yourself. If you want to make it any other way than a free pass around you will need to clear it with us first. Obviously the forum is not here for members to make money by sha...

Re: Knife of the Decade 2010-2019

I cannot think of any knife (line) that has constantly adhered to a standard that virtually no other maker even realizes once. The Fujiyama line defines the art of knife making to me. Every little detail has been thought through and perfected with each iteration of the breed. From the perfect grinds...

Mahalo guys! Hi Arthur. Thank you so much. Yes it has been a lot of fun...hunting.....digging under rocks.....listening for whispers...and then scoring :D And you are correct...the journey is far from over! My biggest unicorn is a Fujiyama Honyaki by Ashi. But there are several others too ...
