Re: Wok suggestions?

Just saw this this easy, at least it looks easy, gas range hack from Kenji for wok cooking. He says it doesn't work on all gas ranges, so YMMV. —- Good to know. My range works! I’ll have to stir fry next chance I get. Here it is, 12:34 AM and I'm trying this hack :) Unfortunately, my cheapie stove ...

Re: What did you cook today?

Oh duck! It's been a while. Man, that looks yum! Reminds me of some Czech duck I had in Prague, with red and white cabbage, and something they call Kneydlik (not sure about spelling). So, someone recently 'thanked' an old video post of the Wok Therapist I posted on the Carbon Skillet thread. I watc...

Not new but after 10 months of mostly being stuck at home, it appears that cleaning out the basement can no longer be procrastinated. So, Day 1. Try to control your envy but look what I found . . . https://www.ronniesuburban.com/photos/food/knives/santoku.set.21.0115.01.napastyle.set.jpg Napa Style...

Re: Wok suggestions?

What I've learned most with my wok cooking inside is to get it REALLY smoking hot preheating before putting food in it and then keep the flame on high of course during the cook. When the wok is too cool that's when you get bad sticking. A wok on a consumer gas stove is a challenge but it is doable.

There are no hot spots, because the hand-pounding creates a surface that distributes the heat evenly.

Re: Wok suggestions?

...Unless I find the mysterious Cen wok at a garage sale someday, I might just go for Ronnie's choice... I have basically the same one Ronnie has but they didn't have the metal helper handle as an option back then, I would rather have had that. I have the 14" flat bottom. https://wokshop.store...

Ronnie as delicious as your meals look I'm continually impressed with your prep work and organization. That discipline alone has to make the job easier and much more enjoyable. That in itself has been inspiring to me to do better. As I cook and have various ingredients prepped and ready to go I'm st...

Re: Sharpening COVID haircut scissors... where to start?

My wife cut my hair for several years with a pair of trimmers like Ray recommended. My daughter-in-law is a hair dresser and she cuts my hair now and those are what she uses for 90% of the cut on guys, very little scissor work.
